The storm drain garden came about as a way to add interest within the garden, bring plants up to face level and, as shown above, create a vessel for a water garden. Both the large tubes, up to 4 feet in diameter, and smaller sewer tubes also serve as a means to hide irrigation sprinklers that were installed at the necessary height to reach over the exuberantly growing plants.
