Aeonium 'Mint Saucer' (Green Aeonium) - A great looking and durable succulent shrub to 2-3 feet tall by twice as wide with large green rosettes that mound up to form a dense green colony. A tight cluster of pale yellow to cream flowers are held a short inflorescence that rises above the foliage in early summer.

Plant in full sun (coastal) to part sun in a well-draining soil and irrigate occasionally to infrequently - this is a drought tolerant plant in coastal California gardens. Hardy to short duration temperatures down to 25 F. Rosettes surrounding flowering plant dies back but are covered up by surrounding non-flowering ones so the planting remains a dense solid green mass.

Aeonium 'Mint Saucer' was a plant given to us in the late 1980s by a local Santa Barbara gardener. We asked many succulent specialists and other nurseries if they could identify it and nobody came up with another name, though it was suggested that it is a Aeonium canariensis hybrid, but it was different enough from all other Aeonium we were growing so we felt we should apply a cultivar name to it, even if only temporarily, to designate this plant as different. San Marcos Growers first introduced this plant to the horticultural trade in 1991 and this name has stuck as we now have customers asking for this plant it by name and other nurseries also growing it now use this name - seems it remain Aeonium 'Mint Saucer'.
