Unbranched flower spikes rise about 2 feet above the leaves bearing waxy greenish yellow flowers ahat at first point outwards as buds then lay flat agianst the spike when open. Plant in full sun to light shade. A very drought resistent species. Is reported to be hardy to 28F. This recently described plant was discovered at fairly high elevations (4500 to 8000 feet) in Saudi Arabia and plants have reportedly also been collected in neighboring Yemen Our plants from seed supplied by Brian Kemble of the Ruth Bancroft Garden.
The description above is based on our research and observations of this plant growing in our nursery and in our own and other Santa Barbara gardens. We would appreciate hearing from anyone who has additional information or disagrees with what we have written.
