Hemerocallis 'Pookie Bear' (Pookie Bear Daylily) - Cute miniature daylily with 2.5 inch terracotta-pink flowers that are centered with a maroon eye and green throat. Lush green foliage matures to 20 inches tall. Blooms early to mid-season and repeats. This deciduous diploid daylily was hybridized by Durio in 1984 and won the Florida Sunshine Medal in 1989. For added vigor divide mature clumps every 3 to 5 years and fertilize in late spring. Hemerocallis comes from two Greek words meaning ''beauty'' and ''day,'' referring to the fact that each flower lasts only a day. We grew this variety from 1998 to 2007.
The information about Hemerocallis 'Pookie Bear' that is displayed on this web page is based on research conducted in our nursery's horticultural library and from reliable online resources. We will also include observations made about this plant as it grows in our nursery gardens and other gardens that we have visited, as well how the crops have performed in containers in our nursery field. We also incorporate comments that we receive from others and welcome hearing from anyone with additional information, particularly if they share cultural information that aids others growing this plant.
