Pithecoctineum crucigerum planted in San Marcos Growers garden |
|
This beautiful vine in the Bignonia family (Bignoniaceae) from Central America is closely related to Distictis. Although considered to be an evergreen vine, it will lose its leaves when temperatures dip much below 30-32° F. Growing to 16-25 ft. tall with pale yellow flowers in late spring. This vine can be seen clambering on the large Yucca elephantipes in front of our nursery office.
