Phormium 'Maori Chief' planted in San Marcos Growers garden
 
Phormium 'Maori Chief' with Dichroa febrifuga in the San Marcos Growers Demonstration Garden. 'Maori Chief' is a robust upright plant to 6 feet tall with 2 1/2" wide green centered rose-red margined leaves which arch at the tips. A more refined plant but similar than 'Sundowner'. Seems to hold its red foliage better than 'Sundowner.
