|
This wild looking vine from Costa Rica is in the Euphorbia family (Euphorbiaceae) which means the purple petal-like structures surrounding the center of the flower are actually bracts. This vine is evergreen and can grow to 16-25 feet or as high as one gives it support. Flowering is heaviest from early summer to late fall. Plant in full sun to light shade and give frequent irrigation to keep lush. This plant can tolerate drier conditions but will look far better when irrigated. Hardy to at least 20-25° F. This very interesting vine is sure to attract attention.
