Senecio angulatus planted in San Marcos Growers garden |
|
This vining senecio comes from South Africa, where it can be found scrambling over other coastal shrubs from East London to Natal. It has fleshy triangular-shaped leaves that are lobed like ivy leaves, edges of which are lined with a burgundy color, and yellow rayless daisy flowers that seem to bloom throughout the year. Plant this evergreen vine in full sun and give little to no irrigation. Will tolerate beachside condition and is hardy to 20 degrees F. A good solid evergreen vine for a chain link fence. We are currently not growing this vine although a plant remains in our garden.
