Cordyline 'Ahc Ahc' - A clumping variety of Cordyline that grows to 3 to 4 feet tall with weeping, variegated foliage in a blend of colors that starts out apricot and peach and matures to a mix of yellow and green with all colors present at the same time. We have not seen this cultivar bloom yet but it likely will have the tiny pale lilac flowers, with a jasmine-like fragrance, held above the foliage on branched stems that other Cordylines have. Plant in full sun to part shade in a well-drained soil with regular to occasional irrigation. We have not had it outside for a cold winter but likely this plant will tolerate temperatures down to 20° F. Cordyline 'Ahc Ahc' is our name for reversions out of tissue cultured plants of the showy Cordyline 'Cha Cha' that has the same base color foliage, but with bright pink margins – for more information on this parent plant, see our listing at Cordyline 'Cha Cha' . This cultivar name is simply the parent plants name spelled backwards.
The information about Cordyline 'Ahc Ahc' displayed on this web page is based on our research conducted in the nursery's horticultural library and from reliable online resources. We also include observations made about it as it grows in our nursery gardens and other gardens we have visited, as well how the crops have performed in containers in our nursery field. We will also incorporate comments we receive from others and welcome hearing from anyone with additional information, particularly if they can share cultural information that would aid others in growing this plant. |
