We have very little information about this plant other than what is written on its US plant patent application. We first saw it at the 2005 EuroAmerican Proven Winners pack trial and thought it a very nice showy plant. It is listed as a naturally occurring mutation of Plectranthus parviflorus that was discovered by Rod Pattison in Rochedale, Queensland, Australia in 2000. It received U.S. Plant Patent 16,975 on August 8, 2006, and was marketed in the U.S. by Proven Winners.

We liked this charming little variegated plant and began offering it for sale in 2005 and sold it for the next 5 years but then never found this plant available from any licensed propagator (it is patented) and so had to discontinue producing it in 2010.

The information about Plectranthus Blue Yonder ['Limplep1'] PP16,975 displayed on this web page is based on our research conducted in the nursery's horticultural library and from reliable online resources. We also include observations made about it as it grows in our nursery gardens and other gardens we have visited, as well how the crops have performed in containers in our nursery field. We will also incorporate comments we receive from others and welcome hearing from anyone with additional information, particularly if they can share cultural information that would aid others in growing this plant.
