Agave zebra (Zebra Agave) - Fast growing medium-sized agave to 3-4 feet tall with near equal spread with long recurved gray leaves. The leaves are "V"-shaped in cross section with prominent teeth along the margin and beautifully marbled broad bands of pale green.
Plant in full sun plant where it is both heat tolerant and hardy to cold temperatures down to around 15°F. It makes a great potted specimen and is also nice in the ground but requires a well-drained soil or slope planting as it can rot in cool wet winters in heavier soils.
Zebra Agave is in the Marmoratae group comes from dry rocky locations of northwestern Sonora, Mexico in the Sierra del Viejo and the adjoining Sierra Aquituni Mountains. Our plants from seed collected at Sierra El Viejo. We grew this plant from 2007 until 2015.
