Nymphaea candida (Aquatic) (Hardy Waterlily) - This hardy waterlily was first described in 1822. Found throughout the regions of Kashmir, Kazakhstan, Russia (Siberia); SW Asia and into Europe. White flowers with ovate-oblong petals numbering 20-25 on each flower appear from May to September. Place in full sun for best results. Fertilize throughout the flowering season for optimum growth. Pads reach out to 3-5 feet across making this a perfect choice for small to medium size ponds. Our thanks to Lotusland for introducing us to this species.
The information about Nymphaea candida (Aquatic) that is displayed on this web page is based on research conducted in our nursery's horticultural library and from reliable online resources. We will also include observations made about this plant as it grows in our nursery gardens and other gardens that we have visited, as well how the crops have performed in containers in our nursery field. We also incorporate comments that we receive from others and welcome hearing from anyone with additional information, particularly if they share cultural information that aids others growing this plant.
