Canna 'Endeavor' - Tuberous perennial. Full sun. Moderate water needs. Red-orange flowers in summer-fall. Hardy to 0 degrees F. Grows to about 5-6 feet tall with lance-shaped glaucous-green leaves and medium-sized bright red flowers. A Longwood Garden aquatic canna: you can plant in ponds no deeper than 8 inches underwater. Good in or out of water. We grew this plant from 1994 until 2005 when it was diagnosed as having canna yellow mottle virus (CaYMV). We only continued to grow Canna varieties that were determined to not be infected nor susceptible to this virus.
The information about Canna 'Endeavor' displayed on this web page is based on our research conducted in the nursery's horticultural library and from reliable online resources. We also include observations made about it as it grows in our nursery gardens and other gardens we have visited, as well how the crops have performed in containers in our nursery field. We will also incorporate comments we receive from others and welcome hearing from anyone with additional information, particularly if they can share cultural information that would aid others in growing this plant. |
