Dyckia 'Brittle Star' hybrids - This succulent has rosettes of spine-margined leaves that are silver to very dark purple black. Plant in bright light (sun best along coast) to enhance silver color. Good drainage and occasional to very little irrigation. Should prove hardy to at least 20° F. This variable crop of many beautiful plants came from seed received in 2010 from Nick Wilkinson of Grow Nursery from a cross of Dyckia 'Brittle Star' with another Dyckia that was done by Rob Skillin.
The information about Dyckia 'Brittle Star' hybrids displayed on this web page is based on our research conducted in the nursery's horticultural library and from reliable online resources. We also include observations made about it as it grows in our nursery gardens and other gardens we have visited, as well how the crops have performed in containers in our nursery field. We will also incorporate comments we receive from others and welcome hearing from anyone with additional information, particularly if they can share cultural information that would aid others in growing this plant. |
