Gladiolus tristis (Yellow Marsh Afrikaner) - In the fall, 4 foot high grass-like foliage emerges from the corm. In the following spring delicate cream-yellow tubular flowers bloom on tall flower stalks. The flowers are fragrant at night. It does best in full sun and watered regularly. It is hardy to below 15 degrees F.
