Erigeron x moerheimii (Pink Santa Barbara Daisy) - A low growing perennial that is very similar to the Santa Barbara Daisy, Erigeron karvinskianus but does not spread as wide (only to 3 feet) and has larger flowers that are a light pink. Plant in full sun to light shade with moderate to occasional watering. It is hardy to at least 10 F and possibly a bit lower. Does not reseed like Erigeron karvinskianus. Though not verified, this plant is likely from the Royal Moerheim Nursery, that was founded by Bonne Ruys in Holland in 1888 and carried on by his daughter and famous garden writer, designer and horticulturist Mien Ruys. The nursery was famous for plants for use in the "Natural Style" as opposed to the more rigid formal style that was common in the day. We grew this plant from 1987 until 2013. It was a nice plant but we moved on.
