Dendromecon harfordii "Weeping Form" (Weeping Island Bush Poppy) - This evergreen shrub is a selection of Dendromecon harfordii that was selected by Santa Barbara Botanic Garden for its larger leaves and pendulous habit. As with the species this plant has glaucous-green oval leaves only they are larger than the typical form. The largest plant we have seen of this selection is 7 feet tall with pendulous branches sweeping back towards the ground. Like the species it has yellow (3 inches across) flowers that cover the plant the spring and summer. Full sun. Drought tolerant. It is hardy to about 15-20 degrees F. This cultivar is as yet unnamed by the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden. (SBBG # 86-385)
