Scaevola Whirlwind White TM PP15003 ['Scawihatis'] (White Fairy Fan Flower) - The first of the large flowering scaevola to have pure white flowers. Flowers and foliage are are only slightly smaller than 'Blue Wonder' and the foliage is a lighter colored green. It is a prolific bloomer, with pure white, fan shaped flowers covering the plant all summer. Great as groundcover or edging plant, pots or hanging baskets. Full sun/ light shade. Well-drained soil. Water regularly. Hardy to 30-32° F This plant is the product breeding program to produce early flowering Scaevola conducted by Henricus Stemkens in Enkhuizen, Netherlands. This cultivar originated from a cross made in 1999 of two selections of Scaevola aemula and was chosen for its white flowers and lighter colored foliage, both due to the lack of anthocyanin in the plant. This plant received US plant patent PP15,003 in July 2004 under the cultivar name 'Scawihatis'. We grew this plant from 2005 until 2009 but replaced it with 'Top Pot White'
