Agave 'Nizanda Warrior' – A unusual small agave with narrow brittle leaves that are dark green with a light green mid-stripe and arch upwards. Flowering typically happens in late summer with an erect spike to 3 to 4 feet feet tall with greenish yellow flowers grouped on scattered short branches. Plant in partial coastal sun to light shade in a well-drained soil and water occasionally. Not particularly frost hardy but can survive a light frost so best near the coast and try to avoid places where people or animals might brush up against it as the leaves can snap off with ease. This unusual plant surfaced in our Agave nizandensis crops, which came from several sources so we really are not sure where we got this one that differs for Agave nizandensis in having upright arching dark glossy leaves while the species has decurved lighter colored leaves that are not glossy.
