X Sedeveria 'Jet Beads' (Jet Beads Stonecrop) - A distinctive hybrid of Sedum and Echeveria with dark bronze tinted green foliage surrounding short sprawling stems to 4 inches tall. The pointy tipped leaves are arranged along stems like a string of beads and take on a near black tone in cooler weather, giving this plant its cultivar name. We have not seen this plant flower but likely it will have yellow flowers in summer months. Plant in full sun to light shade in a well-drained soil and irrigate occasionally to very little. Hardy down to at least 25° F. Great in a low container or mixed dish gardens, as a groundcover. The parentage of this plant is not well documented but of the verified X Sedeveria hybrids it seems closest to X Sedeveria 'Whitestonecrop' which was a result of crossing Echeveria prolifica with Sedum stahlii.
