Canna 'New White' (White Canna) - Large, creamy, nearly white flowers on 4-5 ft. tall plant. Prefers full sun and warm weather. Frost hardy to about 0 degrees F if given deep mulch around crown. Regular watering. A taller plant than Canna 'Herb's White', which was a seedling Herb Kelly selected from the cultivar 'North Star' that we used to grow. When Herb gave us this plant in 1999 he just called it "new white" and this the name we continue to grow it under today.
The information about Canna 'New White' displayed on this web page is based on our research conducted in the nursery's horticultural library and from reliable online resources. We also include observations made about it as it grows in our nursery gardens and other gardens we have visited, as well how the crops have performed in containers in our nursery field. We will also incorporate comments we receive from others and welcome hearing from anyone with additional information, particularly if they can share cultural information that would aid others in growing this plant. |
