Iris PCH 'Purple & White' (Pacific Coast Hybrid Iris) - This Iris features a spring bloom of white flowers with falls with purple veins and a yellow spot at the base of each petal and standards of pure white. The clumps of tough evergreen foliage grow to 12 to 18 inches tall and spreads to 2 to 3 feet wide. Plant in cool sun to light shade with occasional summer watering. As with other Pacific Coast Hybrid Iris, plant in light shade, morning or late afternoon shade and water sparingly. It is hardy below 15 degrees F. In heavy alkaline conditions that are often found in southern California soils the addition of peat moss or soil sulfur is recommended, and with very heavy soils gypsum is added.  Information displayed on this page about  Iris PCH 'Purple & White' is based on the research conducted about it in our library and from reliable online resources. We also note those observations we have made of this plant as it grows in the nursery's garden and in other gardens, as well how crops have performed in our nursery field. We will incorporate comments we receive from others, and welcome to hear from anyone who may have additional information, particularly if they share any cultural information that would aid others in growing it.
