Canna 'Erebus' - This tuberous perennial performs best in full sun receiving regular water. Salmon-pink flowers occur from summer into fall. Reaches 3 to 4 feet tall with lance-shaped, glaucous-green leaves and medium-sized salmon-pink flowers. 'Erebus' is one of four hybrids bred at Longwood Gardens for use in water gardens and grows shorter and more compact than other Longwood cannas. Ideally suited for use in average garden soil or in the pond with no more than 4 to 6 inches of water above the soil line. Cold hardy to 0 degrees F. We grew this plant from 1995 until 2009.
The information about Canna 'Erebus' displayed on this web page is based on our research conducted in the nursery's horticultural library and from reliable online resources. We also include observations made about it as it grows in our nursery gardens and other gardens we have visited, as well how the crops have performed in containers in our nursery field. We will also incorporate comments we receive from others and welcome hearing from anyone with additional information, particularly if they can share cultural information that would aid others in growing this plant. |
