x Mangave SMG Mix – A diverse collection of seedling Mangave plants that resulted in intentional crossing of the unique x Mangave 'Bloodspot, thought to be a hybrid between Agave macroacantha and Manfreda maculosa, as the seed parent with the equally interesting small Agave nizandensis as the pollen parent. Meanwhile bees simultaneously carried on their own business crossing the x Mangave with a nearby flowering Agave filifera and it appears from the resulting plants that that the bees were the more successful.  Information displayed on this page about  Mangave SMG Mix is based on the research conducted about it in our library and from reliable online resources. We also note those observations we have made of this plant as it grows in the nursery's garden and in other gardens, as well how crops have performed in our nursery field. We will incorporate comments we receive from others, and welcome to hear from anyone who may have additional information, particularly if they share any cultural information that would aid others in growing it.
