Nymphaea candida (Aquatic) (Hardy Waterlily) - This hardy waterlily was first described in 1822. Found throughout the regions of Kashmir, Kazakhstan, Russia (Siberia); SW Asia and into Europe. White flowers with ovate-oblong petals numbering 20-25 on each flower appear from May to September. Place in full sun for best results. Fertilize throughout the flowering season for optimum growth. Pads reach out to 3-5 feet across making this a perfect choice for small to medium size ponds. Our thanks to Lotusland for introducing us to this species.
