  Phormium 'Maori Queen'

Phormium Maori Queen in a Santa Barbara Garden
Phormium Maori Queen planted in Santa Barbara garden

A stiff upright plant to 4-5 feet tall with 2" wide olive-green leaves edged rose-red. Edges fade to a cream color. Cut out older foliage as they fade and remove any pure green leaves that emerge. This picture of a beautiful container planting of Phormium 'Maori Queen' was taken in front of Landscape Architect George Girvin's Santa Barbara office in the Meridian Studios in Santa Barbara, CA. It is growing in a location where the plant receives only dappled sunlight.
