Leymus condensatus Canyon Prince
Cultivar Garden - Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden

This native California gray-blue evergreen grass is a selection made by the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden from Prince Island, a small island off of San Miguel Island in the Santa Barbara Channel. It is a densely growing rhizomatous grass to 2-3 ft. tall in a dry location, larger if given regular watering. The flower stalks rise 1-2 ft. above the foliage and are topped with tight congested clusters of flowers. This beautiful drought resistant grass is more striking and much less invasive than the European Dune Grass. Also known as Elymus condensatus 'Canyon Prince'
